Frequently asked questions
Do I need a credit card to sign up?
No. The Starter plan is free forever. No credit card required until you upgrade.
Can I change plans at any time?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade any time. Changes take effect immediately and we prorate the billing.
How do add-ons work?
Add-ons are optional extras on top of your base plan. WhatsApp and AI are included free in Pro and Enterprise. Lower plans can purchase them separately from Settings → Add-ons.
How does the 1% Stripe fee work?
When parents pay online via Stripe, a 1% application fee is charged on top of Stripe's standard processing fee. This is used to maintain the platform.
Is BPay and PayID really included?
Yes. All paid plans support BPay, PayID, bank transfer and cash payments natively — no third-party add-ons needed. This is unique to Setu for the Australian market.
Can I have multiple branches?
Yes. The Pro plan supports up to 5 branches, Enterprise supports unlimited. Each branch has its own admin, students, staff and finance reports.
Is my data hosted in Australia?
Yes. Data is stored in AWS ap-southeast-2 (Sydney). Setu SMS is operated by Mantilam Pty Ltd under Australian privacy law.
How does WhatsApp work per school?
Each school gets a dedicated Australian WhatsApp Business number. Parents see your school name and logo — not Setu's.
