By signing up for SetU you agree to these terms. SetU is a platform operated by Mantilam Pty Ltd (ABN 57 658 967 983), an Australian company. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service.
SetU is a cloud-based platform for activity-based education and community organisations. It spans student management (students, attendance, classes, fees and communications), an online store (eSetu) for selling products and memberships, and events and ticketing. The service is provided on a subscription basis.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information during sign-up. You must not share your credentials with third parties. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
Paid plans are billed monthly in Australian dollars. Your 30-day free trial begins on signup. After the trial, you must provide payment details to continue. We use Stripe for payment processing. You can cancel at any time from your account settings.
Where you collect payments from your customers through SetU — event tickets, store orders, or fee invoices — we charge a platform fee on each transaction. Current rates, volume discounts and caps are set out in our Fee Schedule, published at /fees, which forms part of these terms. Fees are deducted from each transaction as it is processed. We will give you at least 30 days notice by email before any increase takes effect. Card processing is charged separately by Stripe at their published rates.
You are the seller of record for everything you sell through SetU. You are solely responsible for determining whether you must register for GST, for charging it, and for remitting it to the relevant tax authority. Prices you enter are treated as GST-inclusive: the price your customer sees is the price they pay, and any GST component sits within it. SetU does not calculate, add, collect or remit GST on your sales and does not act as your tax agent. Where you provide your ABN, we will display it and the GST component on customer receipts so they can serve as tax invoices. GST on our own platform fees is our responsibility, and we issue you a separate tax invoice for those.
You retain ownership of all data you enter into SetU — student records, class schedules, fee data, store orders, event registrations, and all other information. We act as a data processor on your behalf. We do not sell your data or use it for any purpose other than providing the service.
All data is stored in AWS ap-southeast-2 (Sydney, Australia). Backups are performed daily on paid plans. We use Supabase as our database provider, subject to their terms and privacy policy.
You may only use SetU for lawful purposes related to running your organisation. You must not use the service to send spam, collect data without consent, or violate any applicable laws including the Australian Privacy Act 1988.
We aim for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance. We are not liable for data loss or service interruptions beyond our control.
Either party may terminate the agreement with 30 days notice. Upon termination you may export your data. We will retain your data for 30 days after termination before permanent deletion. You can request immediate deletion by contacting us.
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, Mantilam Pty Ltd is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of SetU.
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
